OVERVIEW
SERIENIZE is a personal app for tracking the TV series you watch. It’s built as an archive, not a catalog: no social feed, no recommendations, just your own library, organized by status, with your progress episode by episode and new episodes detected for you. It’s designed to replace the spreadsheet many of us still use, with the care of a well-kept collection.

CHALLENGE
Most tracking apps are built around discovery and community: feeds, recommendations and comments. None of them is built around a personal library. Meanwhile, keeping track by hand means spreadsheets, notes and memory.
The challenge was to design a calm, personal space where adding a series takes under 30 seconds, logging an episode takes one tap, and the collection feels like yours, without turning tracking into another task.
PROCESS
I started with a benchmark of existing apps to define what SERIENIZE should not be, then mapped the information architecture, navigation and key flows. Edge cases shaped the interface as much as the happy path.
The visual identity grew from Mondrian: 3 primary colors, one per series status, on cream archive paper, with a khaki alternative and a High contrast mode designed alongside the decorative gradients. Details like custom posters, gold-framed favorites and sticky notes written in “pen blue” make the collection feel personal.
Alongside the design, I wrote a product requirements document with user stories, functional requirements, acceptance criteria, design tokens and the data model. It’s the blueprint for the next step: building the MVP for iOS and Android.
